Never Underestimate the power of "rub offs" !!

Has anyone ever had a rub off effect on you?

Have you ever been around someone that you respect, admire..someone who inspires you every second....someone who you feel can change your world, how you view the world....someone who can teach you so many things by just giving one look....someone who lives his/her life in a way that you just learn by watching them....??

Are you living your DREAM?

If you are a kid, you dream of fairies, charming princes, beautiful princesses, happily ever after lives, so much of love, a fulfilling work life and in our dream worlds, there is never a sight of sadness, challenges, failures, heartaches, disappointments or conflicts. The world is painted so colorfully and there aren't any moments of grey shades.

While you grow up, you are exposed to so many options and even though theoretically, there should be freedom to choose something we love and pursue that as a dream, many myths and limitations set by the society and our own families limit the capacity and room for growth. The parameters of life and ways of living are rigidly modeled in to the society that each of us try to fit in to the requirements and then expect our life to be worth living. We expect living to be interpreted as fitting in to the socially accepted norms. These rigid structures command a significant amount of changes in your life. Years of commitment to academic/ professional qualifications, routine jobs, start at entry level, earn a salary at the end of the month and it goes on.

This value system is in built in the society that at one point of our life where many contradicting things happen,  we naturally fall in to this norm of accepting that the only way to live is by abiding to the in built waves of the society. In my opinion, creativity, innovation, craziness, energy and radical thinking disappears in the face of social limitations.

I heard my mentor say that only 20% of the people realize their dreams and be successful in life. And when you think of it, I sometimes wonder if it is even lesser. How many of us have the capacity and willingness to do whatever it takes to live the dream we want? How many of us can break the chains of social acceptance? How many of us at least try?

I am living my dream today and I realized no matter how hard it gets, when you live it, it is all you need. You need to find the passion in your life and do that for your living. It might be controversial and not widely accepted. But what is more fun than getting involved in the best thing you can ever think day in day out?? When you find your passion and when you follow it, you would know and feel the difference in your life.

How you are never tired.....
How you never lose focus..
How you never wana give up...
How you will treasure every second spent in that dream....

Never hesitate to take that step away from the traditional work myths! Let work give you a life of fun, challenges and learning and the only way to have it is to by following your passion..living your dream !!

So are YOU ready to take a risk and follow your dream??

Are you a STAR, CASH COW, DOG or a QUESTION MARK in the Society?

Do these words ring a bell?

This is THE famous BCG matrix concept for portfolio planning in the Corporate world. There are different strategies that are spelled out for each of these to optimize the profitability for the Organization.
..................................................................................................................................

Have you ever thought of individuals as different brands in this society?

Each of us either add up to the richness of the society or the malice could take goodness away from the society. The crux of these actions would be either a rich , healthy, happy, peaceful and a collaborative society or an unhealthy, individualistic, sad society filled with rage, jealousy, terrorism and revenge.

In my opinion, "Market Share" in this context is the significance and the impact you have on the society. The "Market Growth" in this context is the extent to which you are willing grow with the growing society and its developments.

Some times we think achieving a certain status in the society, achieving highest academic qualifications, being a part of a good deed , being the richest, having the dream job and having the best family is the peak of our life. We think achieving our personal goals in all aspects has the highest impact on the society and most of us stop dreaming and growing at that point. We get complacent in our thinking that we stop growing when the society grows. If you are at this stage of your life, I would call you a CASH COW. The society as well as you yourself would "milk" and when more "STARS" are born, your impact to the society would be lesser and hence would turn in to a "DOG" where you turn in to an insignificant character.

Some might think when I say "impact" it has to be some sort of popularity or high contribution related significance. But NO! I am referring to ways in which you can give back to the society in your own way - honestly and humbly, not expecting a return. As Mahatma Gandhi mentioned "It's the action, not the fruit of the action, that's important. You have to do the right thing. It may not be in your power, may not be in your time, that there'll be any fruit. But that doesn't mean you stop doing the right thing. You may never know what results come from your action. But if you do nothing, there will be no result.

I believe in non-stop learning - and this learning should not only be restricted to class room or college based. This should involve learning about societies, people, politics, religions, developments, nature and anything that could be new to you. And that is when you can make a difference in the world, someone's life and it could even be a beginning to an end of a dark period for someone. These are the people I call "STARS" in life. People who not only achieve their own dreams but be a part of a dream of someone else who is less fortunate and less capable in some way.

Also, some individuals look at their own growth and they grow with the society, they learn new things but never give back. As much as it sounds interesting in their own world, the responsibility each of us has towards the society we are living by which we shape ourselves is being neglected and hence we become "QUESTION MARKS" to the world.

Some might call this an unconventional way of looking at it but for me this world is an Organization where all the marketing tools we know can be experienced in detail. Each individual become the products and we become the consumers too. The more profitable this Organization becomes the world becomes a better place to live. So in this equation, I personally want to be a STAR where I learn and I give back to the society what it deserves.

What are you right now? And who do you want to be? It is a matter of choice and we all can make the best choice if we are willing to make a difference!!

things better.” ― Robert F. Kennedy

What Every Woman Should Have !

I read an article this morning which had the same title. It was based on the role of the mother in today's world and if a working woman should stay back at home when she is blessed with a kid. It is very controversial and challenging - yet, worth the discussion!

Reconciliation of the Past Year ...

The waves give us a constant reminder of how much repetitive our days could be.  It never stops!!  Life  in many ways is the same.. Sometimes we want to stop! Right now! Right Here ! But it is all about going on.........
